More Details...

What a response! I am sooooo excited about those of you who have jumped at something this crazy! So far, between emails and such we have a dozen or so that want to do this!

I thought of a shirt slogan maybe - in honor of my dad. So, maybe mine could just say it, but I think it's cool for everyone..

Fighting the good fight.
Running the race.
Keeping the faith.

If you want to find out more about the race go to: Capitol 10K

You can see pictures, the course map, dates, times, etc. Note in the pictures that there are hard core runners and then people running in tutus and balloon costumes. It's for all types. : )

Please know that when I say you can walk the race, you really can. And you won't be the only one doing it. 16000 people or so participate. Don't you want to be one of them? : )

Ok...
me too.

I've hesitated because I knew that as soon as I said "yes" then I would be held accountable. And watching Brandon run the 10k in Austin made me feel like a fat lard-butt.
So, let's do it!

Can I just throw cookies at y'all from the cheering section?

I laughed out loud at A's comment. Brant says he's in. I ... well, I might walk it, pushing the boys. So... count us in, too.

okay, FINE!

geez!

i, too, feel like a fat lard-butt, but that still wasn't enough motivation for me to do anything about it!

but you sucked me in. i'll probably be one of those walkers.

okay, wait...let's think about this. if it takes you an hour to run it, how long is it going to take me to walk it?? seriously!

this is nuts!

oh, and i like the t-shirt. i didn't know your dad, but i would LOVE to honor him!

Fat lard-butts, UNITE!

Seriously, is this a timed race? We will likely be there the next day.

I'm like Mari...if I say yes, I'd have to be accountable. But there are many reasons to say yes and being afraid shouldn't be the reason to say no.

I hope my computer doesn't blow up when I say count me and Dan in.

Here goes...

Hello!! I have been reading your blog through Stephanie Strange's page. And you have inspired me to run as well!! But there is a slight problem. I am 8 months pregnant right now, and due Sept. 30th. Do you think that will give me enough time to train and run it?

And, I think I know your husband Troy through Athletic Training at ASU. I was in the program for a year.

OK, room for one more lard-butt?

I've been thinking about it since you posted the first invite.

And I'm in. Lord help me.

I actually download a program for a 5K walk/run program the other day because I have got to do something. I will have to see what my crazy travel schedule looks like but I think this would be great! You are such an inspiration. Not promising a run but joining in would be fun! Maybe just walk/run!

Hey are we ordering the shirts together? And what design will we put on them? Who do I need to send the money to?
